Works of Art in Ivory
Familiar with Regulations Surrounding Endangered Species
Richelle has worked with historic and antique ivory works of art in the contexts of sale at auction and appraisal.
While working in auctions, she became familiar with the federal regulations surrounding the sale and export of ivory, which still directly inform the market.
Richelle oversaw the sale and appraisal of many works of art made of or containing ivory - including musical instruments.
Richelle continues to work with ivory and, in early 2026, lectured online for the International Society of Appraisers on Appraising Ivory.
Richelle is glad to appraise or advise on works of art made of or containing ivory. Please note, Richelle does not handle raw, or unworked/uncarved tusks.
